PROJECT SCOPE

  • Redesign the electrical schematics to reduce the installation time.
  • Modify existing harnesses to incorporate latest Model Year changes from the OEM.
  • Reevaluate OEM tap points and simplify the installation process.
  • Create documentation to assist after market and field service support.

APPROACH

  • Evaluated the entire assembly and installation process.
  • Identified bottlenecks and redesigned for modular Plug-N-Play.
  • Designed new set of harnesses to include OEM MY changes.
  • Created detailed documentation to facilitate field service support

  • Facilitated easy installation for Lincoln MKT & Cadillac XT5 platforms
  • Reduced installation time to 90 minutes from 225 minutes.
  • Saved $275K annually by reducing installation time and decreasedwarranty issues
